If you run into a snag with a file or an upload, we may suggest that you open it in Inkscape – it’s a way for us to make sure we’re looking at the same thing as we work together. When making an SVG with Inkscape, it often has a fill:none or something. Type out your text and change the font at the top left. On the left side panel click Create and Edit Text Objects then click anywhere on the canvas. Make sure the SVG code doesnt have any fill attributes in it ( fill should be in the CSS). It is an integration with the Linux Desktop app Inkscape, which is an open-source vector graphics editor similar to Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, Freehand, or Xara X. Step 1 - Create a new design Open Inkscape and click on New Document. Since it’s so accessible, we use it for examples and troubleshooting. If you use Inkscape to create your SVG, youll probably have to do some hand-editing of the SVG to make it styleable with CSS. It runs on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux operating systems.
